  • Reporting enhancements
  • Improved and redesigned Help
  • QIF import/export enhancements

Major Enhancements in the Manufacturing module

  • Introduce Process Analysis and Exploration modes
  • Process Analysis
    • New “Define Characteristics” editor
    • Characteristic result visualization

Non-uniform tolerance zone

Non-uniform profile tolerance zone can be defined on extruded or revolved surfaces.

How to define non-uniform tolerance zone?

  1. Select an extruded or revolved surface and add Profile tolerance
  2. Check “Non-uniform tolerance zone” in FCF editor
  3. Give “from” – “to” tolerance values
  4. Select the zone start and end positions with the colored selector
  5. Add the required letters to start and end positions

Only status and the worst absolute percentage are reported for profile tolerances with non-uniform boundaries due to the zone is changing from point to point and reporting actual value would be misleading, because not necessarily the biggest actual value gives the worst result.

Details of the result can be seen in Result Points tab for every individual point. The followings are reported:

  • Actual tolerance zone (-TOL and +TOL) according to the actual location within the non-uniform tolerance zone
  • Actual deviation
  • Signed percentage of the deviation in the tolerance zone of the point

Designated area support

  • Designated area is a restricted portion of a feature.
  • It can be imported from QIF files.
  • Annotations such as datum targets, tolerances can be associated to designated areas.
  • A designated area collects measured points from its source feature, but the source feature also uses these points for calculation.
  • Designated areas are listed in the Features tree under their source feature.

Improved Datum target editor

  • Datum target editor has been reworked and enhanced.
  • New Shape selector has been introduced.
  • Datum targets are listed in the Features tree under their source feature:

Reporting – Redesigned report items

The reporting module now delivers an enhanced user experience with improved visuals, increased readability, optimized compactness, and advanced customization capabilities.

Reporting – Redesigned report properties

Redesigned and modernized properties panel for report items.

Export CMM-like Sampler parameters

The applied CMM-like sampler parameters can be exported into .CSV or .TXT file format from Parameters panel.

Process Analysis and Exploration

Differentiate the typical workflows in the Manufacturing module by introducing Exploration and Process Analysis modes.

  • Process Analysis
    • Gather and analyze manufacturing process information
    • Define characteristics of the manufacturing process to be able to statistically control your process (SPC) and make adjustments based on statistics
    • Ability to check characteristic results
    • Make corrections in the process
  • Exploration
    • Explore custom-made part failures
    • Examine features (or a set of features) of a custom part by calculating the error components in arbitrary alignments
    • Run a simulation with the corrections and apply it on the part

Process Analysis – Define Characteristics

New define characteristics editor is available instead of the old pinning characteristic definition method.

Define/Edit characteristics

  1. All characteristics are listed, but you can filter the list using the Filters panel
  2. Select Alignment and Display Csys
  3. Check characteristics for Analysis
  4. Add ID, Tolerance, comment to the characteristic

Review characteristics

  • Only the characteristics marked for Analysis are listed
  • Delete characteristics easily
  • Add ID, Tolerance, comment to the characteristic

Process Analysis – Characteristic result visualization

  • Right click > “Show results” on any characteristic on Characteristics panel.
  • Use the display selector to select an alignment and a characteristic.
  • It will activate the characteristic(s) detailed result visualization.

Exploration mode

This mode is equivalent with the manufacturing module from the previous versions except the following changes:

  • Groups panel is replaced with Filters panel
  • Improved machining group definition
  • Characteristic definition (pin/unpin method) and Characteristics panel are not available in this mode. These are moved to Process Analysis mode.
  • Error components from the ribbon are moved to the Filters panel:

Further enhancements

  • Replace Groups panel with Filters panel
  • New “Edit Group” window to create or edit groups
  • Drag and drop features from “All features” list to the Group list.

Improved and redesigned Help

  • Redesigned UI
  • Improved Search function
  • Restructured and reworked content

We hope the new features and improvements of EVOLVE Suite v11.0 will assist you to efficiently define, communicate, and monitor design intent across your manufacturing enterprise.
